The National Youth Council of Ireland is hosting a day focused on the experiences, creativity and leadership of Black young people in Ireland. The programme brings together youth workers, managers and practitioners for a series of interactive sessions that explore identity, belonging and the role of youth work in supporting Black communities. Participants can expect performances that celebrate Black‑Irish culture, workshops led by young people on topics such as the international protection system and genuine belonging, and a creative writing session that encourages reflection on aspiration and self‑identity.
By centring the voices of Black youth, the event aims to foster meaningful dialogue and practical ideas for building inclusive youth spaces. It offers a chance to connect with peers from across the sector, share learning and consider how everyday practice can move beyond good intentions to real impact.
