Discover the chills, ills, and kills of Collins Barracks on this special guided tour. Not for the faint of heart…or stomach.
Led by Museum guide Tóla Collier, sink your teeth into the National Museum of Ireland’s collections at Collins Barracks. Find out about the trials and tribulations of life as a soldier living in the Barracks from the 1700s until the late 1900s, with a focus on (ill-) health, as well as the transition from one of Europe’s oldest occupied Barracks into one site of Ireland’s National Museum.
This tour will take place partially outdoors, so dress appropriately for the weather!
Culture Club is a series of hosted talks, tours and activities that introduce and encourage people to connect with the cultural spaces of the city. This event is part of a series of Culture Club tours and talk held throughout 2026, as a collaboration between the National Museum of Ireland and the Dublin City Council Cultural Company.
