Ardal O’Hanlon returns to the stage with Not Himself, a stand‑up programme that mixes his trademark wordplay with a fresh look at everyday absurdities. The Sligo‑born comic uses his keen observational style to probe everything from supermarket mishaps to the quirks of modern technology, offering a blend of surreal asides and sharply‑tuned jokes. While he reflects on his own background and the passage of time, the material stays firmly rooted in the present, turning the mundane into something oddly profound.
Fans of O’Hanlon’s television work – from his turn on Taskmaster to appearances in Derry Girls and Death in Paradise – will recognise his distinctive voice, now channelled into a live routine that balances humour with a subtle, sometimes darker, edge. The show promises a thoughtful yet thoroughly entertaining hour‑and‑a‑half, showcasing why he remains a respected figure on the comedy circuit.
