On Friday 16 October at 1pm, Dublin-based artist Tamsin Snow will join art historian Dr Margarita Cappock at The LAB Gallery to talk about her current exhibition, The End, Once More. The exhibition runs from 24 September to 31 October 2026, so the lunchtime talk falls in the middle of its run. It’s a good time to see the work and then hear the artist explain it.

The artist
Snow makes immersive installations that combine sculpture with computer-generated animation. Much of her work examines the legacy of modernist architecture and the political and ideological ideas built into buildings and social spaces. Her films are assembled from crowd-sourced 3D models of real buildings and buildings seen in cinema, which gives viewers the uneasy feeling of moving through places that are both strange and familiar. Recent work has looked at forensic pathology, scanning technology, cryopreservation, and how science fiction relates to real medical innovation.
Irish audiences may remember On Ice. Her first solo exhibition in Ireland was at Temple Bar Gallery + Studios in early 2022. In that show she turned the gallery into a kind of waiting area, part public plaza and part corporate lobby, with seating, an air-conditioning unit, a banking machine and screens. At the Glucksman in Cork, her installation Relic included 3D-printed ATMs, a comment on technology becoming obsolete. art walk january 22 +2
Snow studied at Goldsmiths and holds an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art. She has exhibited in Ireland, the UK, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Finland and the US. Her residencies include the Villa Concordia Fellowship in Bamberg, KulturKontakt in Vienna, and the Helsinki International Artist Programme.
